HYDERABAD: Senior IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon has won an international award for her contribution to traffic management initiatives. The Institute for Road Traffic Education (IRTE) and the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award (United Kingdom)-2005 is being given to her for introducing good practices in traffic regulation, a press release said. Currently working as Hyderabad Police Additional Commissioner, Ms. Menon strictly implemented the helmet rule during her tenure as Traffic Additional Commissioner from June 15, 2004 to June 11, 2005. She also successfully introduced concepts such as `Hyderabad School Traffic Commandos' and `Hyderabad College Traffic Marshals.'
